Connected through Vocabulary
Today, in 7th grade we “Linked” some key words dealing with weather and climate:
Global Warming, Greenhouse Effect, Gulf Stream, Ocean Water, Sea Ice, Glacier, Permafrost, Climate in Western Europe, Polar Bear, Large Waves, Fossil Fuel, Coastline Erosion, SUV’s (sport-utility vehicle), Methane, Severe Weather Events (tornadoes, hurricanes), Arctic, Antarctic, Global Economy, Climate Change, Climate, Global Climate
You were all given a card with one of the key words. We passed a ball of yarn connecting the terms. Much like the world wide web, words are interconnected. Hopefully, by doing this activity, you gained a greater appreciation for our vocabulary.
